That's why Eric Marciano didn't shy away when filmmaker
Warrington Hudlin asked him to help create DV Republic through the Black Filmmakers Television Lab.
Funded by Ford Foundation and headed by filmmaker Warrington Hudlin ("House Party"), the BFF's mission is to develop socially-concerned, entertainment-driven television such as its "Pass The Torch" speaking series. Most of these projects are created in partnership with independent producers and human rights advocacy organizations.
The dv Republic is the internet programming initiative of the BFF for which Eric is also a consultant. BFF, Marciano and the web design firm kounterattack worked together to create the site's compelling design.
This project is great for American Montage because it gives Eric
a chance to apply his skills to a political and social cause.
